Bernardo Carpio AR for PC

Tuldok Animation Studios presents the epic tale of Bernardo Carpio, a demigod in Philippine folklore, in comics, animated film, and mobile app. This Bernardo Carpio AR mobile app features augmented reality (AR) images, trivia, and the digital version of the comics.

This app works side by side the Bernardo Carpio comics with AR component by writer and filmmaker Rianne Hill Soriano.

APP FEATURES
Through this edutainment app, use any digital or printed copy of the Bernardo Carpio comics and match the AR trigger page with your mobile phone’s camera to enjoy AR renditions of the legendary Bernardo Carpio. Using the correct AR trigger page from the app’s menu, check out some fight stances of Bernardo Carpio and his opponent the sorceress by switching character icons in the app.

Read trivia about the Bernardo Carpio lore and enjoy the comics’ digital version. This app also showcases a behind-the-scene video about this multi-platform project (comics, film, and mobile app) for you to watch, a bonus old-school crossword puzzle included in the comics, alongside additional project information presented as educational and entertainment materials.

STORY
Bernardo Carpio is a legendary figure in Philippine mythology. Whenever an earthquake happens, it is believed that he is trying to break free from being trapped in between the two great boulders under the mountains of Montalban, Philippines.

Bernardo struggles to free himself from his chains, while he also duels with the mysterious and powerful sorceress who led him to his entrapment under “The Two Clashing Boulders” in Montalban. This adaptation depicts two beings fighting each other as the bigger force above them, the Spanish government, manipulates them both.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project funded through the Innovation Grant from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is in line with Tuldok’s advocacy to produce original Filipino content inspired by Philippine literature using new media technologies.
