This Video Game is a pedagogical tool that is part of the products of the Safe Steps Alliance, an alliance made up of Fundación Barco, USAID, Discovery Communications and Computadores Para Educar, which can be used by people over 8 years of age to raise awareness about the risk due to Anti-Personnel Mines, unexploded ammunition and explosive traps, their use is especially recommended in the educational field of the areas most affected by this problem, accompanied by a teacher trained in Anti-Personnel Mine Risk Education.
This game experience takes place in a rural environment where the Avatar character must travel the path from his house to the educational institution safely. Each of the participants, when starting the game, will be able to design their own Avatar according to their gender, ethnicity and dress options. When leaving home, each of the characters must remember safe behaviors, which will allow them to be alert to the dangers they may encounter along the way. During the journey to school the characters may find safe areas and others that are not, so you must pay close attention to the signs you find to make the best decisions.
The players can also count on Lulú's help. This character from the Miniseries “Lalo and Lulú take Safe Steps” will teach you clues to take the safest path; which, together with the stars, will make the journey to school a fun experience with Safe Steps.
You will experience various missions that will help you internalize the elements of the self-care competency. Among the missions are image analysis, word searches, puzzles, among others that not only contribute to risk management skills, but also reading comprehension and information technologies.
The game's objective is for boys, girls and adolescents to acquire safe behavior against the risk of anti-personnel mines, achieving:

1. Recognize the danger that Explosive Devices represent and stay away from them.
2. Stay away from places where Explosive Devices may be present.
3. Recognize and stay on safe paths and places.
4. Seek help when there are victims of Explosive Devices.
5. Promote safe behaviors in your family members and your community.

The video game can be played between an hour and an hour and a half, as a single experience or in 2 or 3 sessions, depending on the age of the participants, ideally it seeks to complement the teachings provided by the teacher regarding the risk of antipersonnel mines and the pedagogical route (see www.pasosseguros.co) but it can also be played without prior experience, raising awareness among the players.
The game has a teachers' section, where the teacher can view the accounts or boys and girls who have created an account or character/avatar on the device, each of them with their respective name.

Each student's account will present information on the respective progress they have had during the game, with details of the adventures they have completed, thus evidencing how far their general progress has been, which of these challenges they have completed satisfactorily, to achieve the tokens that you must collect during the game and make accompaniments and reinforcements according to the progress made in the game.
Also in this section, the teacher can, if necessary, delete the users and their accounts from the device through a double confirmation procedure by clicking on delete account and then confirming each one of them and wishing to delete them.
