The department of Ranérou-Ferlo created in 2022 by decree n°2002-166 of February 21, 2002 is one of the 3 departments of the Matam region and extends over the geographical area of ​​Ferlo, the department covers an area of ​​15 101 km². But, until then, the area was devoid of a media in a world where information, good and true information is essential to communities to help them in their decision-making and above all to raise awareness and development of men.
The Department of Ranérou-Ferlo with a total of five (05) local authorities (the department and 04 communes) expresses a strong need for support for the development of its various potentialities. To this end, communication tools, territorial marketing and development promotion must be put in place with strong involvement of all stakeholders to implement a territorial animation approach at the department level. The new elected officials seem to understand this and have decided to face the many challenges linked to the digital divide and isolation. Thus, the launch of a community radio for the community and by the community is timely.
It is in this sense that the idea of ​​creating the radio was conceived and carried out by one of the sons of the department whose destiny is forever linked to the populations. Passionate about media, the founder decided to invest in the sector for the exclusive benefit of the public.
The idea of ​​creating media for raising awareness led to the creation of the “Pinal” group, which means awakening, a media company publishing Pinal Fm.
Pinal Fm is therefore a private community radio also oriented towards digital through its application available on PlayStor, App Store, for accessibility anywhere in the world via the internet.
