Known as the bible of the Bear. Published in 1569, this Bible marks a milestone in the history of Spanish-speaking people, as it is the first complete version translated into Spanish, from the original Hebrew and Greek languages. It is known as the Bear Bible because of the emblem that appears on its cover, a bear standing next to a bush, trying to reach the honey from a beehive, logo of the Bavarian printer MattiasApiarius.

The Bear Bible reflects the literary beauty of the so-called Golden Age of Castilian literature. In Historia de los heterodoxos españoles, the Catholic scholar Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo praised the Bear Bible from a literary point of view, which he considered to be better written than the Catholic versions of Felipe Scío de San Miguel (1793) and Félix Torres Amat (1825)

Clicking on favorite shows the verses you marked for quick access.

The Search menu will allow you to place a word in a text field and search the entire bible, in the old or new testament. If you specify the search range it may take less time to find matches, but if you select the entire bible it will take longer to find matches. find the results.

The settings will allow you to change the size of the letters and the reading mode (Night and day).
