By eliminating the need for intermediaries such as retailers and middlemen, the app helps farmers secure better prices for their goods and reduces transportation risks.
Moreover, FarmEasy serves as a comprehensive agricultural extension system, catering to the specific needs of rural farmers. It provides real-time information on fertilizer availability, weather forecasts, disease and pest identification, and treatment options. This integration of extension services within a mobile application is a first of its kind in Nigeria, benefiting farmers, researchers, and extension agents alike.

The FarmEasy app is the result of a collaborative effort between the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) and Professor Chinenye Anyadike, who acted as the project lead organization and Principal Investigator. Educare Limited, led by Alexander Onyia as the Co-Principal Investigator, played a crucial role in the development and deployment of the app.
