The prayers that make up the Rosary are arranged in groups of ten Hail Marys, called decades. Every decade is preceded by a prayer of the Lord and followed by a Gloria Be. During the recitation of each series, the thought is given to one of the Mysteries of the Rosary, which recalls events in the life of Jesus and Mary. Five decades are recited for rosary. Other prayers are sometimes added before or after each decade. The rosaries are an aid to say these prayers in the right sequence.

The Rosary started on the short thread:

The sign of the cross on the Crucifix;
Prayer "O Lord, open my lips, O God, come to my help, Lord, hurry to help me", always on the Crucifix;
The Credo of the Apostles, still on the Crucifix;
The prayer of the Lord to the first great heel (for the intentions of the Pope and the needs of the Church);
The Hail Mary on each of the three successive pearls (for the three theological virtues: faith, hope and charity); is
The Glory Be on the next big heel.
The prayer of the decades follows, repeating this cycle for every mystery:

The Mysteries of the Rosary are meditations on the episodes of the life and death of Jesus from the Annunciation to Ascension and beyond, known as the joyful (or joyous) mysteries, the sorrowful mysteries and the glorious mysteries. Each of these Mysteries contemplates five different stages of the life of Christ.

The 15 promises fall into the category of "private revelation", and as such they are a pious tradition, that a person is free to believe or not to believe.

Anyone who will serve me faithfully by reciting the Rosary will receive gracious thanks.
