Electrical calculations PRO version.

Some calculations are based on the Mexican Standard NOM 001 SEDE 2012.

For the Mexican Standard only applies: Table of ampacities, pipe sizes, motor capacity and selection of conductors.

Solar Panels, Interior Light and Power Consumption are not based on the Mexican standard, they apply anywhere.


As a summary, this App performs the following calculations:

In all of them notes are left with suggestions, explanation of concepts and details about the calculations. Thus it is possible to understand the calculations, even if you do not know very well about a subject.

PRO version calculations.
4 new exclusive sections of the PRO version were added, they are the following:

1.- Calculation of Solar Panel installations.
The calculation of a photovoltaic installation is carried out, whether the installation is connected to the network or isolated from the network (Off Grid).
The result is the minimum number of solar panels, the energy generated in one day, one month and two months.
In addition to the appropriate inclination of the panels.
A suggestion for a solar panel array and battery bank capacity for the off-grid system.

2.- Calculation of interior luminosity.
The luminosity calculation is carried out using the lumens method. The number of necessary lamps is calculated, as well as their capacity and distribution.

Options are left to use coefficients of use and maintenance, as well as to choose the distribution of the lamps or, if you already have a lamp selected, you can enter its characteristics and do the calculation.

3.- Electrical consumption.
The electrical consumption of an installation can be calculated based on the power of the devices, how many hours it is used per day and how many days per month. Furthermore, if the price of a Kw-hr is known, it is possible to know how much will be paid on the bill.

4.- Electrical power.
In this calculation, the load (KW) is entered and the amperage, conductor size, switch capacity and earth gauge are calculated.

We give the option of obtaining the data from the Standard or doing the calculation with all the necessary parameters.

6.- Transformer.
The calculations corresponding to a single-phase or three-phase transformer are made. The recommended fuse is shown, as well as the maximum allowed.

7.- Driver selection.
The minimum conductor is selected according to the amperage, the type of insulation, the continuous load and non-continuous load, the grouping factor and the temperature factor.

8.- Pipe selection.
The size of the pipe is calculated based on the size of the conductors, the number of conductors and the material of the pipe.

9.- Voltage drop.
Here the voltage drop is calculated, based on the gauge of the conductor and the distance at which the load is located.

10.- Calculation of the conductor based on the voltage drop.
In this app, we created another section where the size of the electrical conductor is calculated based on the maximum voltage drop allowed.

11.- Ampacity tables for copper and aluminum conductors.
In this Application, a section is created with a table that contains the ampacities of the different gauges, at different temperatures for Copper and Aluminum.
