This book contains useful notes from the author which he obtained from the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence, specifically discussing the jurisprudence of fasting to the practice of iktikaf. This book is taken from Matan Abu Syuja and various syarahs or explanatory books. God willing, the explanations are very interesting and become valuable knowledge in understanding the law of fasting, in fact this is the basis for understanding contemporary fasting issues.

So that our fasting is not in vain, we need knowledge. Remember what 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz said:

"Whoever worships Allah without being based on knowledge, then the damage done is more than the good achieved." (Majmu'ah Al-Fatawa, 2:382).

To make it easier to understand the laws of fasting, we would like to present from the book of Syafi'i jurisprudence which is well known among us, namely the book of Matan Al-Ghayah wa At-Taqrib, also called Ghayah Al-Ikhtishar, or some who call it Mukhtashar Abi Syuja'. This book was compiled by Ahmad bin Al-Husain Al-Ashfahani Ash-Shafi'i (lived in 433-593 H). Then the matan will be explained from the explanations of the scholars, especially the Syafi'iyah scholars.
